With user-frendly interface and powerful function, Windows has been one of the most popular system for our computer users. It is very relevant to our needs, especially the young. In order to protect our privacy, it is natural for us to add strong passwords to prevent unauthorized access of windows system. However, it is quite embarrassing and terrifying if you forgot Windows password especially if the files in it are very important.
One way to reset Windows password would need the access of the Administrator account. Since the default Administrator account is not protected by password (and if you are running Windows 7), you can open the ‘Local Users and Groups’ tab from the Start icon and typing ‘lusrmgr.msc’. This will show a list of available user accounts and you can set new passwords for them. The other option requires running the command prompt and this might be an impractical option for beginners. To run the command prompt, simply click on the Start button and type ‘cmd’ on the search box.
Inability to enter your own computer is a terrible situation and losing files is never a good thing. However, you do not have to reluctantly erase everything just to reset the password because there are programs designed to reset or recover lost windows password. If you want to recover your password, you can opt for free Windows Password Recovery available for download and follow the simple steps. You can also try making educated guesses if you think your password is manually retrievable. You can also try resetting it – this means the password will be permanently deleted – but such action will not harm your computer or your files. Here takes Windows Password Recovery for example:
To get started, download and install Windows Password Recovery in the PC that you can log in as administrator. Then launch it and insert the CD/DVD or USB flash drive in computer. Select burn a bootable USB flash drive or CD/DVD, and then select target device, at lat click Burn button. A bootable password reset disk will be burned in seconds. With this bootable disk, you can reset windows password easily.
Insert the burned bootable disk in the PC that you want to reset password of, then turn on the PC and access start it form the bootable disk. To do this, you first access BIOs, and then set BIOS to from CD/DVD or USB.
Once the computer successfully starts from the bootable disk, you’ll see Windows Password Recovery disk in Windows PE. At that time, select the user account you want to reset password of, and then click Reset button. The user password will be removed in seconds. After that, click Reboot button to restart PC. During restarting, please remove the inserted bootable disk. When the Windows logon screen appears, log into the user account that you’ve got windows password reset.
I am not able to download anything, even the Windows Password Recovery tool, without logging in as an administrator. Is there another way I can reset the computer without having to log in as administrator everytime?
